Hey radha kanta, the one thing real in this life is you
All else is unreal, there for sometime, gone sometime
As I walk on thin ice, I believe the ice is you,
this life is you and everything is you


Players we are on the stage of life
Acting our roles really well
Knowing very well all this is unreal
Where is reality then?

In the depths of our heart lies reality
In the compassion we show to another
In the love we show another
In the work we do to uplift other people’s lives
Maybe this is reality


Selfless living is the only way to live
Ask yourself how many people did I help today
How many people bless me due to my actions
How many people’s days were made brighter by my efforts as well

Together Always

You and I are always thrown together in situations
I run to people, seeking their company
But time and again, when I look around,
They are all gone, and you alone remain
I try to avoid you, bored
But yet when no one else is there
You stand by me and give me strength to live life
We have fun moments together
You put me on to new people, new situations
And all the while wait for me to learn
And come back to you
I am happy to have you in my life
I am glad you are ever present like a shadow
Places change, people change, and things evolve
The one who remains through everything is you
My thoughts touch the ends of the world
Trying to answer mysteries, solve riddles
Through my mind
But many times it returns with no results
Unable to find the meaning of many things
At times I am disgusted with thoughts that arise in me
At times I feel proud of the thoughts that blesses all
And seeks peace with everyone
Why this duality? When will I conquer the duality and see one world of peace and calm, and understand my nature
Passions swirl, they are like open mouthed black holes
Dragging me by force to get sucked by them
Anger, Jealousy, Lust, hatred appear and disappear one after the other
When will these waves settle,
To learn that as long as we live, these emotions will continue
But knowing to hold back, and focus on our goal
Is the key to remain outside the blackhole.
Enable me to see thee in all things, beneath all things, through all things
Let me see the world as an extension of you in all moments
Bless me with this vision,

God's Touch

There is something called 'being touched by god'. God's touch is transformative. Your thought forces are changed. From being an ordinary person living a mundane life, you are reconstituted to serve as god's employee.Life's mission shines on you. The inspiration to implement is also provided by god. All praise to the lord, the indweller, master craftsperson, valley of wisdom, possessed of qualities representing the highest and best.

God's touch does not happen at a physical level. By that i mean that god does not appear in physical form and touch with you his hands. It is a purely mental experience. As one spends increasing lengths of time thinking of god, the divine energy slowly takes over your mental faculties. He/She possesses your mind at all times. When such possession takes place, the baser human qualities melt away to reveal a shining personality in you. This shining person represents lofty ideals, ideals close to God's heart and your vision of life is changed. Higher thoughts, higher goals are revealed to you. What do i mean by higher and lower thoughts. To eat, sleep, speak that does not lead to good for all represents actions guided by lower thoughts. Serving others, working for humanity represents actions progressing from higher thoughts as the individual desires are used for all.

Does this mean the baser nature in every one of us dissappears completely? No, depends on your level of association with god. The baser qualities keep returning time and again until you learn from the effects they have on your life and choose to release yourself from their clutches.

Let us take the case of anger. 'Anger destroys' is a phrase we often hear.I used to enjoy the presence of anger in me and prided myself for that. How foolish! Yet it took me thirty years to recognize that anger does little good. Everytime anger came and went, i felt drained. Instead tolerance i realized has greater rewards. What is that i seek from others? Tolerance, forgiveness and acceptance. The more i discovered the qualities i liked in others, lessons of anger's effects shone on me. Today i am able to exercise greater control of anger. What is god's role, you may ask. My association with god brought about this realization.

Study the lives of the great men and women, great due to their humane qualities and for their role in serving as agents of positive change and you will discover that there was a defining moment in their lives when god's touch changed them from rust to glowing gold. God is not high up in the clouds. He is in you at all times.

Seek god's company at all times. When his presence is their no matter what comes your way, you will be able to rise and grow. Life is god, god is life. Knowing that what can death do to you?

Strive to feel god's presence in you at all times.

The Prayer Box

I started writing to God on a regular basis especially when i was studying in Ithaca, NY. Everyone was new. Everything was very new and well i felt lost. Every evening i would return to my room and write the day's events sharing my feelings with god. This habit gave me a feeling of involving god in all that i did. I also launched the prayer box program to god. Things i felt were impossible to achieve, beyond my ability, i would write out a letter expressing my thoughts and seek god's help. I created a folder in my computer called Prayer Box and started dropping the letters there. Once dropped i would not read them again. I would write fresh letters every time the worry reappeared and keep dropping the letters in the box. This process continued. The most interesting thing i saw happening over the months was many of these problems were being resolved on their own, one by one. It is hard to believe but well, my post box was actually working. Slowly but surely even the most daunting tasks were simplified and i saw transformations happening in the environment around me. Those who were against were changed to supporters, those whom i never knew, came around to help, someone would remember me all of a sudden and connect me to resources. Shall i tell you the most wonderful thing you notice when letters are posted? You stop holding on to problems as your own and transfer the entire responsibility to god. And then the magic begins. When god takes over you can feel the air changing. The most unbelievable things happen and before you know it, you have been transported from this side of the problem to the other side of solutions. All of this happens with no special effort from you. It is like sitting in a car next to a driver and trusting the driver's judgement. Once i discovered the post box to be so powerful, the folder grew to subfolders with special prayers for each member of the family. My dad was hunting for an opening, my fiance was hunting for an opening, and i created letters for each of them and dropped it in. You will be surprised that they all got jobs. Interestingly i have dropped many letters now to god asking him to help find a job and i know he has heard me many times. Yet everytime i add the line in my prayer, i trust your judgement lord, dont go by what i say. Maybe that's why he is doing things according to his judgement. After some time, my computer was struck by a virus- the trojan virus and i had to reformat my system. My prayer box of two years now resides in the storage disk. I have created a new prayer box.

Swamiji appears in dream vision

In the early hours of today, Swamiji appeared briefly in a dream vision. I have been praying to him for guidance and he seemed to have acknowledged the same through this dream darshan.

The dead alarm clock comes alive

Swamiji's biography ' Apostle of Love' records an instance of a clock that came alive to remind a devotee to offer Naivedya. Swamiji was out of station and had asked one of his devotees to offer Naivedya to Sai Baba and Shrinivasa idols in his cottage at 8:00 p.m everyday. On one of the days, the devotee forgot to offer Naivedya when the alarm clock that had stopped running jumped from the almirah and stood before the devotee. The clock then sounded the alarm at 8:00 p.m and reminded the devotee that the Naivedya had been forgotten. When Swamiji returned to his Kutir, the devotee narrated the incident with great awe and disbelief. Swamiji told him that the appointment with god should never be missed and all objects in his room had life. Therefore the clock had managed to jump down from the shelf and reminded the devotee of his obligation. This clock can still be seen in Swamiji's room in the Sai Mandir at Thyagaraya Nagar.

I had a similar experience under a different circumstance. I was employed in New Delhi in 2003 and had taken up an apartment with another girl. After 6 months the girl left and i could not find another suitable house mate. I found it pretty hard staying alone since i had never stayed by myself. I also had some health issues that made me quite worried. On one of those days when worry got the better of me, i sat in my apartment all alone and lost in my worries. I was so unhappy. I also sat thinking that i am all alone and there was no one around for me. Just as this thought passed my mind, i suddenly heard the alarm clock sound loud. It was 7 p.m and the alarm clock pulled me out of my thoughts. The alarm clock had not worked for the last 6 months and i was extremely astonished to hear the alarm clock ring after all these months. I got up and opened the shelf to check if the alarm was indeed ringing. The alarm clock sat next to my small puja shrine. The arms of the clock were still stuck in their place but the ringing sound alone had come alive. What a strange incident, i thought! How can a disfunctional alarm clock come alive. Then it occurred to me that Baba was communicating that i was not alone and he was with me through this miracle of the dead alarm clock's resurrection. I prayed to Baba and with that all my gloomy thoughts took to their heels. Since then, i never feel alone since i always know that Swamiji, Sai Baba and Shrinivasa are alive and watching me in an inviscible form.

Lost in Los Angeles

My husband and i were on a holiday to the West Coast of United States last year. We visited the Grand canyon, Las Vegas and Los Angeles. Los Angeles was the home of my cousin and we were visiting them for the first time. My cousin took us out to some of the local attractions. The Venice beach was a popular tourist spot and quite close to my cousin's house. We decided to visit the beach on our own. Since we had a GPS there was no problem finding our way back to their home, we thought. We parked our car at a parking bay across the beach and walked to view the beautiful coastline. The beach was framed in a brilliant landscape of distant blue mountains and a curving coastline. The beach had also been planned to include play areas for children, skating rinks and shops. A live music band was also playing. We kept walking for almost 2 hours. By evening 7:30 we decided to return and to our dismay we could not remember the starting location. All the streets looked identical too. The two of us gave up searching after twenty minutes and decided to ask someone for directions. I prayed almost instantly to Swamiji and Sai baba to help us find our way back.

LA was known for its mafia and it was growing dark and bereft of people. We walked around and my husband saw a middle aged woman standing outside her apartment with a dog. We explained that we were lost and sought directions from her since she was a resident of the area. We could have called my cousin but i did not want her to panic and rush down. The GPS had been left in the car and that was precisely why we could not locate ourselves. We had become so dependent on the GPS that we had failed to make our own observations on the location and landmarks.

The lady was British and had settled in USA. She recognized our inability to identify the place where we had parked our car. She immediately offered to drive us around until we could identify our parking spot. She brought out her car and asked my husband to occupy the front seat. Her dog and i took the back seats. We drove around for the next 20 minutes unable to locate our parking spot. I thought hard and suddenly the image of boats parked near the car flashed across my mind. I had made a mental note of this landmark even as we walked out from our car. I clearly remembered this landmark and described the location to the lady. She thought for a moment and said she thought she knew the place. What a relief it was to hear her say that. She drove us to a spot almost 2 kms away from where we had met her. As she turned into one of the side streets, i saw the canal and the boats floating on the water. Yes! we had found our parking spot. The lady waited until we confirmed that our car was indeed parked in the bay and only then left for the night waving us good bye.I was amazed by the fact that a stranger had bothered to make this extraordinary effort to help us find our way. I gave her a warm hug and thanked her profusely for her act of kindness. I also thanked Swamiji for sending this samaritan in a timely manner. With a guru and god like Swamiji and Sai Baba with us, we can never get lost. They will pull us out from the depths of danger and restore us to safety every time.
